A hand-painted Cooler Master V8 3DHP air cooler has found an unexpected match: the ROSSO limited edition case and power supply set from Seasonic and XTIA. Cooler Master invited the custom paint job a while back, the praise that followed came as a surprise, and now the ROSSO set's deep red has given this cooler a whole second round of attention.

A Paint Job That Found Its Match

The timing here is genuinely funny. The painted V8 3DHP had pretty much finished its run in the spotlight — or so it seemed. Then Seasonic and XTIA dropped their joint "ROSSO" limited edition case-and-PSU set, and suddenly the cooler's red treatment looks like it was made for it.

In the photos, the painted covers sit inside the ROSSO open-frame chassis next to the matching red Seasonic ROSSO power supply, with a Gainward GeForce RTX card below. The reds line up almost seamlessly. A fellow builder who appreciated the work shot the whole pairing, and a full build-and-review video is still on the way.

For reference, this is what the V8 3DHP looks like out of the box: a black Cooler Master fan, silver trim, dark heatsink stack. The paint job keeps all of that structure but replaces the top covers with a deep, glossy red — the engine-style "V8 30HP" covers that give the cooler its muscle-car character.

The details held up well. The raised white V8 30HP lettering reads cleanly over the new paint, the slotted vents stay crisp, and the gold V8 ACE air cooler badge sits untouched between the two covers. Against a warm red-and-orange backdrop, the silver heatpipe covers down the middle give the whole thing a proper engine-block look.

More Photos, and Another Colorway on the Way

The rest of the shoot shows why the pairing works from every angle: the cooler framed against the ROSSO PSU's white script logo, the full build seen head-on with the cooler as the centerpiece, and the MSI motherboard side where the black fan breaks up all that red.

One more thing worth flagging — a colorway based on a classic FPS weapon skin was already in the works at the time of painting. Consider the deadline officially being pushed.

Editor's Notes & Summary

A custom paint job, a limited-edition case and PSU set, and a coincidence of color — the V8 3DHP and the Seasonic x XTIA ROSSO set turn out to be a natural pair. Keep an eye out for the full build video, and possibly that FPS-inspired colorway next.

  • It depends on how the custom job turns out — might run group buys by design in the future.
