IKEA's RÖDBENA is this small white trapezoid that does more than just wake you up. For $6.99, you get time, date, day, temperature, and humidity all on one mirrored display—basically a mini room monitor for your desk or nightstand. The clean front with hidden buttons keeps things looking minimal and put-together.

Design and Feel

So the shape is pretty distinctive—soft white trapezoid, around 10 x 11 x 5 cm. The front slopes toward you, which is nice because you don't have to crane your neck to see what time it is. There's this glossy mirror-like panel covering the display that's smart design; it looks sleek without being a fingerprint disaster. All the buttons are hidden down below the screen, so when you're looking at it straight-on, it just reads as one smooth surface. It actually looks pretty good sitting among books or on a crowded desk without looking out of place.

The screen packs a lot in without feeling cramped. Big numbers for the time right in the middle, smaller date and day info up top, temperature and humidity down at the bottom. You can actually read it from across the room, which matters if you're, you know, still waking up.
