I sent back the Horus, grabbed the ATK Blazing Sky F1 V2 for less than half the price, and honestly? I made the right call. It's got that same feel as the VXE R1 I've been using for over two years — just a bit more compact, noticeably lighter, same PAW3950 Ultra sensor, and the battery supposedly lasts up to 300 hours. If you've got smaller-to-medium hands and you're thinking about upgrading, here's what the actual experience is like.
Swapping the Horus for ATK
Turns out the Horus is built for medium-to-large hands. When I claw-gripped it, the thing just felt too long. The F1 V2? Total opposite. It's designed for smaller and medium hands, and at 18cm my hand size, the fit is pretty much spot-on.
Coming off the R1, the shape instantly clicks — it's the same basic mold, just trimmed down a hair across the board and lighter overall. The switch feels buttery smooth, and the fact that the ATK costs way less than half of what I paid for the Horus definitely sealed the deal.
Weight, How It Tracks, and Day-to-Day Vibes
Let's talk specs: PAW3950 Ultra sensor under the hood, battery lasts up to 300 hours on a full charge — that's over 200 hours even if you run it at 1000Hz. Better than the R1, and not having to worry about juice all the time is genuinely one of the best parts of using this thing daily.
The lighter weight changes everything about how it moves. At the same DPI, it feels faster, so I bumped my sensitivity down about 10% to re-dial it in. A few things jumped out pretty quick:
- The optical switches have this crisp, super-defined click — a shade sharper than what the R1 had.
- The coating's smooth and fine to the touch; whether it stays that way or starts to yellow over time is the real question.
- This unit's marked F1 Ultimate, and ATK threw in grip tape plus extra skates if you want to dial in the feel yourself.
None of it needed any break-in time beyond tweaking the DPI. If anything, how light this shell is makes the R1 feel like the training wheels it was.
White to Match My Setup — and There's One Thing Missing
I went with white to mesh with my white keyboard. The pearlescent blue looks pretty clean in person too, so if you're into brighter colors, it's definitely worth checking out.
The one letdown: the receiver doesn't have that breathing-light thing. Small detail, yeah, but it's the kind of touch a firmware update could totally handle — hoping ATK's team sees this.
Final Thoughts
The F1 V2 did exactly what I needed — kept that R1 feel I'm used to, shaved more weight off, and hit my wallet way softer than the Horus would've. Consider me sold on ATK. The Ghost edition is calling my name next. If you've been stuck between this and the Horus, this one's your answer.

Honestly recommend it ~ the medium-hand feel of this mouse is just amazing.
The V1 was better — no idea why the V2 got heavier.
The F1 V2 is genuinely comfortable.
Which is better, this one or the MCHOSE A7 V2U? For office work and gaming.
Yeah, mainly it felt too big — the F1 has a really compact feel. I’d originally bought the Puppy mouse, returned it on a whim and got the ATK instead; the value is real.
What’s the use?
Hi, may I use your photos?
The Horus didn’t handle as well as the F1 V2. I bought one a few days ago and ended up returning it too.
